Ive worn the Cascadia since the first model was released. Its one of those shoes that continues to improve with each new model. It is my go-to trail shoe, and it has great traction in snow.

While the construction, grip and looks of the Cascadia 18 were all good, the comfort was not. The insoles offer no more cushioning than a piece of thin cardboard. Wearing them around the house made my feet hurt and after a 5K run I had knee and hip pain also. Please add some cushioning to make them more comfortable.

My husband loves his so much!

This shoe looks and feels great. With two exceptions — 1) the Brooks label/logo on the side looks kind of like a cheap sticker that will peel off after some wear-and-tear (I didn’t keep the shoes to actually know if it would or not. It just looks like it would — hence the 4, instead of 5, styling stars) and 2) with my orthotic inserted, the heel just wasn’t deep/high enough. My heel would rub up/down on the back of the shoe as I walked and it felt like I was slipping out of the shoe a bit. So, if you don’t have to insert anything inside that adds height to your foot, this shoe would’ve been a keeper.

I usually buy a 2E in other brooks as I’ve found they run narrow but turns out these shoes don’t run narrow and the 2E was too big for me. Now with the the standard D width I’m very happy. comfortable but with support.

I would recommend the Brooks Cascadia 18 for hiking because the bottom of the shoes are excellent for rock scrambling or hiking or running. The Brooks Cascadia 18 was made for trail running but its just as good for walking, normal running, hiking, and trail running. The brooks Cascadia 18 has a thin layer of fabric on some parts of the shoe with tiny holes so your feet can breathe. The Cascadia is also very comfortable. The style of the shoes are great too.

Have used this model and its predecessor, both regular and Gore-Tex, for over three years now with satisfaction. Easy walking, gentle and rough hiking, with and without light to medium-weight (up to 35 pounds) pack. Never any pain or blisters. Plenty of room in toe box but also plenty of stability. Has reasonable lifetime.

These have been great training shoes. Ran a 50k trail in them. Great traction even on wooden bridges with morning dew on them (my Hoka Speedgoat5 were very slick on this type of surface). My feet were hurting me between miles 11 and 12. At mile 20 aid station I switch to my Salomon Thudercross6 and the back half of the race was better. I like the shoes but for me they would only be the choice for a half marathon or less, especially if there were a lot of slippery surfaces. No perfect shoe, but I picked the wrong shoe for me and my event.

Brooks were my first trail running shoes back in the early 2010s. I ran numerous long races with them and they were excellent. Since then, I have tried many other shoes, including specialty brands like Hoka and Altra. While those are nice, coming back to these shoe feels right at home. Simply put, its perfectly balanced. No gimmicks. Great traction. Great fit. Just enough cushioning. Excellent ground feel. And they look cool. Glad to be back in a Brooks trail running shoes.

The shoe was comfortable right out of the box. I usually get a wide but these shoes didnt offer a wide so they were more snug which actually felt good on my foot. The soles felt thicker and offered more cushioning than my merrells. I definitely would buy more brooks. The one thing i would change is something cosmetic, the mutated nike swoosh logo. That has to go. In my opinion it makes the shoes look cheap. Get rid of that swoosh thing and just have BROOKS the shoe.

Didnt get to the running part. The little straps that hold the shoe laces broke almost immediately so I returned them.

Ive been a loyal Adrenaline and Ghost user for over 15 years, so when I decided to try my hand at trail running, I figured the Brooks Cascadia 18 would be a good place to startand Im glad I did!
First off, I love the look and feel of the shoe. Its comfortable right out of the box and feels solid on both technical trails and more moderate terrain. The shoes performance has exceeded my expectations; it grips well and offers enough stability without feeling bulky. The rubber toe cap is a great feature, providing just the right amount of protection from rocks and roots without being overly rigid.
As for the tread, it strikes a nice balanceaggressive enough to handle tricky trails but not so deep that it becomes cumbersome on smoother sections. Its versatile, and Ive found it works well in various conditions.
My one gripe, though, is the wear Ive noticed on the inside heel and heel collar after only about 100 miles. The fabric is starting to fray and break down, which is disappointing given how durable the rest of the shoe has been. I dont want this to overshadow the overall performance, but its something to keep an eye on if youre doing higher mileage.
Despite this, Ill definitely be buying these again. The comfort, protection, and traction are fantastic, and I feel confident these will work great for most trail running scenarios. If Brooks could improve the durability around the heel area, this would be a near-perfect shoe for me. Highly recommend!

Needed lightweight hiking shoes for a four month trip to Europe. The Cascadia 18 came out just in time for the trip and they turned out to be a great choice. My biggest concern was protection from sharp rocks. The rock plate provided adequate protection for long hikes. Stability, fit and cushioning were good, but improved with the addition of Currex RunPro insoles. The Cascadias will be going back to Europe with me in March.

Just finished up my first ultramarathon in these shoes after trying multiple other brands during training. These held up well, supported my feet, and helped me finish strong with no hotspots, aches, or pains related to the shoes.

Very impressed with these shoes for trail running. Solid and well-made.

Good fit, good cushion, all good!

Great trail shoes. I already owned and ran trails in a few previous versions of the Cascadia, and this one continues the trend of comfort and good traction for the trails while keeping a reasonable weight.

Not very comfortable as compared to my ghost.

Shoes were really comfortable….at first. After a month the fabric inside the shoe wore down exposing a sharp piece of plastic that cut into my foot near the heel. Do not recommend.

Ive been loving my Brooks Cascadia 18ssuper comfortable and tough enough for any trail I throw at them. Great grip, solid support, and no discomfort.

I love the trail shoe (good traction and cushioning,) but I find it amazing that you don’t make it in 4E, which I need.

Its a great shoe!!!! I have worn the Cascadia since it was made years ago. I have tried others, but always go back to the Cascadia. Whether you are in the trail or the road, it gets the job done! I am a Physical Educator that wears them daily and I highly recommend them!!!

A very nice looking g shoe. Felt pretty nice out of the box. Just not enough cushion for me. Don’t want plush, but these were closer to firm. Nevertheless a very cool looking shoe.
