My husband wears a 10.5 4E, so it is very difficult to find shoes to fit. He loved the Ghost 15 and was nervous to try the new 16. He put them on and immediately said wow, these feel better than the 15s!! If you or your spouse have really wide feet, give them a try!

This is my fifth pair of Brooks Ghost running shoes so I obviously love them. They are comfortable and fit nicely. They might be a little softer than previous versions but I still love the way they feel, and they give me no running issues.

I bought 2 pairs of Ghost 13’s and they felt great, these Ghost 16’s were not as comfortable for my feet

These shoes were not as comfortable as the other two orders that I had made and so I’m returning this one and keeping the other two
Dennis –
I had a pair of Ghost 15’s that I love so tried these. The shoe feels and looks huge next to the 15–like I was wearing an SUV version of the shoe. Wish Brooks would just leave a good thing alone.

Just can’t get adjusted to them. Been running on them for almost a month and I still have blisters all over my feet (arches & heels).

I have bought many pairs of ghost shoes. The toe box on these were very wide. My foot moved around to much in this shoe.

I’ve worn Ghost for years, only running/workout shoes I buy. There is something different about the toe box on these. Feels wide and they hurt the sides of my pinky toes. I’ve never rated Ghost less than 4 stars and these are between a 2 and 3 star. Very disappointed!

I have been wearing the Ghost forever, but be warned: The Ghost 16 changed to a wider toebox. I called Brooks to confirm, and you can call or research for yourself to confirm. I got a huge blister the very first time I ran with the new pair, and now am desperately trying to find any 15s that I can from the remnant sites. If you were a Ghost lover, be warned: This is a different shoe than the versions over the last decade.

New Brooke shoe showed up with no insoles in both shoes. Had to return and very disappointed which wasted a bunch of my time and effort. What a waste!

I’ve had Ghost 12s, 13s, 14s, 15s, and now 16s. I was elated to finally have a little bit of pop in color for my wide feet. I’ve always been an 8.5W and this time around, that’s not the case. I feel like they messed with the size of the shoe and it’s not as wide as it used to be or the dimensions are just not comparable to previous Ghosts. I’ve given it about 100 miles, and I’m already looking for a different pair of running shoes.

Why did Brooks change the Ghost?!! Unfortunately Brooks has decided to mess with the footbed of the Ghost 16. I currently have two pairs of the Ghost 15 and they are great. Unfortunately, with the Ghost 16 they have changed the footbed and moved the arch support forward and it now is under the ball of my foot instead of supporting my arch, where it should be. I used to buy several pairs of Ghost sneakers a year, but now will now be purchasing another brand to take their place.

I have owned many versions of Ghost sneakers over many years, including last year’s Ghost 15 model. Unfortunately the Ghost 16 has been significantly changed from its predecessors and is no longer comfortable, the arch support is too far forward for me, and the fit is too large.

**NOTE: I’ve worn the Ghost 14 & 15, same color in size 8.5M and love them, and replace every 6-12 months (walking not running). Having some issues from toes broken ages ago and decided to try 8.5 W. This feels HUGE- not only wider toe box but longer by half size. Unsure if it’s due to the wider width or if the Ghost 16 is longer in general?

This ghost was not near as comfortable as others in this same 16 model.

The tread is wearing off the bottom of these shoes after two months and I’m not even a runner.

I bought two identical pairs of Brooks Ghost 16 shoes, one in size 12-1/2 medium and one in size 12-1/2 wide. The labels on the tongues were marked accordingly. I tried them on and there was no differences in feel. I pulled the inserts out and compared them: the width was identical. I turned them over and looked at the soles: there was no difference in width. How does the manufacturer explain this?
Martin –
When compared to previous iterations of the Brooks Ghost, version 16 feels “cheaper” and “less cushioned” than earlier models from v9 through v15. Brooks claims to have injected the foam with nitrogen, but so what… I can’t feel a difference except for a lessened feeling of quality. The toe box also seems a bit tight. Brooks might consider looking back to the earlier iterations that had strong revciews rather than trying to engineer cost out of the products. Oh, and the look is (IMHO) much worse than something like the Brooks Ghost v9.

Extra wide was much too wide. I need to return them.

I love(d) brooks but for $140 after taxes, I can’t anymore. The Ghost 16 is not what it used to be. In less than three months (everyday sneaker, not a runner etc.) the soles are almost skins, and one of the shoes blew out. Disappointed in a brand I once spoke so well of, but I can’t justify a new pair of normal wear sneakers at this price every 2-3 months.

I really like these Ghosts, great fit and neat colors.

Out of 4 different shoes from Zappos ordered these were the best fitting and functionally comfortable. This is especially meaningful with my feet bunions and arthritis.
Michael –
The very attractive shoes fit like a dream and are well cushioned. I have flat feet and I find the shoes very supportive.

This is the second pair of Brooks shoes I tried since I needed to get an orthontic type of shoe. These shoes felt great right away and alleviated the pain I have been having with tendonitis in my big toe. To be safe, I decided to switch out the Brooks sole and use my custom orthotic instead and these are my go to shoes for going out and especially if I know I will be walking alot.
EJ –
Love these shoes. Bought them so I had a pair of orthotic shoes and this brand was recommended by my podiatrist. The shoes felt great from the start but just to be safe I switched in my custom orthotics instead to protect my arthritic toe.
